Arma 3 screenshots make the case for rebuilding reality in Bohemia’s engine

I’ve heard some pretty convincing cases against photorealism. Most of them go a bit like this: a more stylistic approach will be cheaper, provide more opportunities for inventive expression, and keep us safely on this side of the uncanny canyon.

Today, though, I’m not really interested in hearing another. I’ve just seen the latest batch of Arma 3 screenshots, and they’re gorgeous.

Arma 3’s going to be at E3 in some capacity, incidentally, alongside Bohemia stablemates DayZ and a new, unannounced game in the Take On… series. Fingers crossed for Take On Me – a milsim adaptation of the A-Ha video.
