Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag: Freedom Cry DLC trailered before game’s been released

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Freedom Cry Ubisoft

Ubisoft’s marketing team have been firing trailers so frequently from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s broadside that they’ve had to move onto the reserve footage, the DLC footage. Yes, the game’s not yet been released and Ubisoft are already advertising Freedom Cry, the first DLC pack for their pirate-y slash’em’up.

You’ll play Adewale, a man who escaped slavery and found work aboard protagonist Kenway’s ship.

The DLC tracks Adewale’s story of leaving Kenway’s employ, now a trained assassin, and finding his own ship and his own crew. The expansion will take about three hours to complete. A sign that, under enough pressure, Ubisoft don’t need eight hours to teach you to play their game.

Freedom Cry comes as part of the game’s DLC season pass, along with new ships, illustrious pirates, and multiplayer characters. There’s no word on its actual release date.
