Assassin’s Creed Syndicate gets PC launch trailer, Cockney killing ensues

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is out on PC tomorrow. To celebrate what hopefully won’t be a Unity-shaped disaster, Ubisoft have released a special trailer for every rig-owning fan of historical hitmen.

Syndicate is one stabby sandbox. Here are the best open-world games on PC it’s hoping to match up to.

Set in 19th century London, Syndicate follows the Frye twins as they hunt for a piece of Eden (hooray for magic McGuffins!), while also trying to foil the dastardly Templar schemes of a gang leader who runs an old timey posse known as the Blighters.

Amazingly, Syndicate is nowhere near as obnoxious as you may expect. Yes, some of the London accents are a little shaky, but you’re not dealing with Dick Van Dyke levels of Cockney pain. I recently finished the PS4 version, and found twin killers Jacob and Evie Frye a hell of a lot more fun than that dour-faced Arno.

Ubisoft have once again partnered with Nvidia to bring a host of fancy graphical tweaks to the PC version of the latest Assassin’s Creed. Syndicate is way more technically assured than predecessor Unity on consoles, so let’s hope the PC port runs smoothly when it launches tomorrow.

The cobbled streets of Victorian London look gorgeous enough on PS4 at 1080p; I can only imagine how eyeball-arousing they’ll be at 2K and beyond.
