Assassin’s Creed is at its best when you’ve got a target to assassinate and limited direction – a murder sandbox that’s a times a little evocative of Hitman: Blood Money. Even in the terrible Unity, these types of missions were a delight.
In Syndicate, they’re called Black Box missions, and Ubisoft is currently showing off one of them at Gamescom, starring Evie. But you can watch this particular mission, with the Assassin twin infiltrating the Tower of London, from the comfort of your sofa.
Apparently we can turn invisible now? It’s one of Evie’s unique stealth abilities, and I’m not even going to bother trying to figure out how she got magic powers. Both Evie and her brother have their own skills, usable in the open world and on missions. Jacob’s main skill, of course, is the ability to wear a jaunty top hat.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is due out sometime this autumn.
