CD Projekt Red hope Cyberpunk 2077 will launch in 2016

Turns out CD Projekt Red is about as hopeful as you are for a Cyberpunk 2077 release date. According to a new report, the developer hopes to have it out in late 2016. As in, this time next year we could be playing Cyberpunk 2077.

Gamereactor Germany reports that they’ve received information from a source close to the studio that claims CD Projekt are aiming for a late 2016 release window. There is no official clarification or confirmation from the developer themselves.

This month saw CD Projekt Red claim that it was now focussed on development of Cyberpunk 2077, although support for The Witcher 3 will continue, with the second expansion Blood and Wine releasing in 2016.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for quite some time, with the game being announced back in October 2012, but a 2016 release seems incredibly ambitious. Let’s hope they can pull it off. If not, I’m sure no one will mind the wait. It’s going to be bigger than The Witcher 3, afterall.
