Company of Heros 2 has been released; read our Company of Heroes 2 review to find out our verdict.

Pre-ordering Company of Heroes 2 before its June release will net players access to an additional mini-campaign, two new multiplayer commanders for each army and two new skin packs. Publishers Sega haven’t said what this mini-campaign will contain, but it will “become availble post-launch,” is called Theatre of War and it will and will allow players “to experience a new single-player story from another part of the war.”

The skin packs are calledWinter Ambush and Voronezh Front, and they simply give players the chance to customise the look of their vehicles when they go to battle online, but the commanders are a little more interesting as they bring new tactical possibilities to the game.

On the Soviet side, a new Anti-Infantry Tactics Doctrine introduces flamethrower tanks, while the Conscript Support Tactics Doctrine allows for much faster troop reinforcement. The German army gets a Joint Operations Doctrine, which allows for precise artillery strikes, as well as the Offensive Spearhead Doctrine, which Sega say is “for players who want to use heavy armor and airstrikes to crush their opponent.” Sounds very Blitzkrieg to me.
