Daylight delayed until April 29th to make it scarier

Daylight delayed

First-person procedural horror game Daylight has been delayed by several weeks, developer Zombie Studios announced today. Its new release date is April 29th.

Why the delay? Zombie Studios says that it needs to make it scarier.

“Let’s not mince words. First news you need to know about Daylight is that we had to delay the release date by several weeks. Here’s the thing: the way Daylight is developed is completely different because of its procedural generation,” says the developer. “In a lot of ways it really helped the team by streamlining the environment creation, but it’s taken extra time to make sure all the scare cues are properly implemented for maximum player effect.”

One can assume the developer means it’s completely different when compared to other horror projects, because it’s certainly not the first game with procedural generation.

While you will have to wait a few more weeks before you explore an abandoned hospital with only your mobile phone for company, you will at least be able to pick the game up for less.

It’s available for pre-order on Steam with a 33 percent discount. It’s £7.99/$9.99 until April 29th, when it launches.
