Bohemia are the only company to have made their millions off of zombies, except maybe that chemical weapons research laboratory that perfected the z-serum and sold it to a private military contractor, and all the other games studios that have made millions off zombie games.
Scratch that. Bad opening.
Bohemia have sold more than 2 million copies of DayZ (which is rather lovely according to our DayZ review). Go them.
Dean Hall announced the success through Twitter:
Just over 2 years ago the DayZ mod released. Today, the Standalone game just broke 2 million units in under 6 months https://t.co/o4WjnTs8Bi

Though Hall’s followers were quick to point out that his maths was a little suspect. Not the 2 million thing, that’s legit, but that Bohemia sold that many copies in less than six months. It was in just over four:
Quite rightly has been pointed out to me, that DayZ isn’t out for 6 months until mid june. So actually, it’s 2 million in just over 4 months

Yes, the horde of DayZ players is now 2 million strong. There is nothing that will stop their onward march up the charts. Bar your doors, board up your windows, and, remember, the only way to stop them is to remove the head or destroy the brain.
