Dead Island: Riptide PC release date confirmed... and it matches the console date

Open-world zombie-smusher sequel Dead Island: Riptide's been given a machete-sharp release date of April 26 on both PC and console. It's also been awarded a veritable cache of pre-order incentives: guns and unique character skins, that sort of thing. In the meantime, if you haven't already seen it, the game's CGI trailer is another wonderfully grim tableau of an Awfully Tragic Thing To Happen During A Zombie Outbreak™.

Dead Island: Riptide follows on from the events of the previous game, which saw the tropical island of Palanai overrun with Hawaiian shirt wearing undead. Here's the trailer release last month, which, much like the last time Deep Silver did this, has very little to do with the game itself.

The game will arrive in two forms, a Pre-Order Edition with exclusive weapon mods, as well as a Specialist Retailers Edition with mods and character skins. And because we haven't seen it in a while, here's the reveal trailer for the previous Dead Rising, which was so striking that it arguably outshone the game itself.

Another reason to never have children: you'll inevitably have to throw their zombified corpse through a fifth floor hotel window.
