Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House trades to require authenticator

Comment

Want to start blowing real cash on a bastard sword of hitting? You’re going to need to secure your account first. Blizzard have announced that all real-money trades will be blocked unless you attach an authenticator to your account.

Authenticators have been available for Battle.net accounts for a good couple of years - either as an iOS or Android smart-phone app, or a keyfob sized widget. Once attached, they’ll require you to enter a series of numbers alongside your username and password.

Only then will you be allowed to add cash to your Battle.net balance, which will can then be spent shopping for swords.

Given the leaks of passwords from Riot, LinkedIn and goodness knows who else, this is probably the right move, right?
