Dishonored’s next DLC will have you kill Corvo’s ward yourself

Dishonored’s second DLC pack will see the player don the exquisite cracked leather gloves of Empress-killer Daud in a new story-driven campaign. This much we knew. What we didn’t know is that we’d actually be doing the Empress-killing ourselves.

Update: A tweet from the official Dishonored account promises more news tomorrow.

The above screenshot was posted to Bethesda’s official Twitter account this afternoon, and recasts a familiar scene from an unfamiliar angle. If you look closely, you can actually see protagonist Corvo standing opposite Empress Jessamine Kaldwin in her final moments, as daughter Emily looks on. As Daud, it seems, you will be the Barney to Corvo’s Gordon.

“Daud, the leader of a group of supernatural assassins known as ‘The Whalers’, will be the focus of the second add-on pack,” read a Bethesda statement in October.

“Make your way through new Dunwall locales and discover Daud’s own set of weapons, powers and gadgets in this story-driven campaign. How you play and the choices you make will impact the final outcome.”

Now: I wonder whether the entirety of Daud’s campaign will run parallel to the events of the game proper? And if so, whether it’ll offer a very different end or three to Dunwall’s internal turmoil?
