Divinity: Original Sin 2 has been smashing all its stretch goals after being fully funded in its first 12 hours on Kickstarter, but the cash just keeps rolling in. One of the latest lumps of cash came from CD Projekt Red-owned digital distribution site GOG.
The pledge was equal or more than $10,000, and that funding tier allows them to put their name on the title screen and collaborate on creating an original character for the game. Good old Geralt, anyone?
Here’s how it’s worded on the Kickstarter: “Become a high-ranking Divine Magister, Black Ring Sorcerer or Ancient Empire Officer. We will work with you to develop a memorable character whose decisions, backstory, and private motivations will intertwine with – or confound – the players.”
The news that GOG coughed up the dough comes from some #savvy #Twitter #brand interaction. I’ve embedded the tweets below:

It will be interesting to see what will come from such a collaboration and how much input the Polish company actually gets in the creation of the character. Will CD Projekt Red get to design the character themselves or just fire a list of suggestions across? Hopefully we’ll find out as the game nears completion.
