Valve will give you a real-life Dota 2 Aegis, but only if you give them lots of money

Dota 2 Aegis

With the Dota 2 International looming ever closer, Valve are eager to keep the already record-breaking prize pool growing. But what can they do to tempt players – more digital hats maybe?

Close, but no cigar. This time, Valve are offering the real deal – a scaled down replica of the Dota 2 Aegis of Champions, but you’ll need to have a compendium level of over 1000 to grab one.

“With The International just around the corner, we’d like to announce an exclusive reward, the 2015 Collector’s Aegis of Champions.” Valve said. “The Collector’s Aegis is a 1/5th scale alloy replica, with antique brass plating, of the winner’s trophy at The International. Inscribed on the back with the year and a gold finished insignia signifying this year’s theme, the Collector’s Aegis is a symbol to reward those whose Compendium Level has reached 1000.”

You’ll need to attain that mighty level 1000 compendium level by the end of the grand finals at this year’s Dota 2 International to claim your prize. If you’re mad enough to have it already, then head here to put your name down for one.

If you purchased 24 compendium levels at a time, you’d need roughly $420 to reach level 1000.

For the rest of us, the Immortal Treasure III, along with an additional Compendium Pet style, is due to be released by the end of the week.

How far do you think this new incentive push the prize pool?
