Dying Light: The Following gets another haunting teaser trailer

My goodness, another Dying Light: The Following story trailer inside a month? Great, now we can finally find out what the first expansion to last year’s zombie survival parkour-a-thon has in store for us. Well…not really. It looks pretty, though.

Who doesn’t like zombie games? We gathered ten of our faves

Details still remain thin on the ground on The Following. So far, we know of an unscrupulous cult, that we’ll get to travel beyond the confines of the quarantine zone – in some cool-ass dune buggies, no less – and that there might, just might, be a cure and a way out of Harran, so suggested last month’s story teaser.

The latest cinematic doesn’t share much more as we’re treated to some nice visuals of protagonist Kyle Crane, the wooden mask-donning cult mid-ritual, and a grim glimpse of the collapsed post-outbreak society in which the game is set. A somber-toned narrator recounts a spiritual-like passage tailored for the trailer throughout. As a fan of the main game, irregardless of the lack of solid takeaways, I must admit I think it all looks pretty cool. Come see for yourself:

So, whaddya think?

Here’s producer Tymon Smektala in a statement issued today: “In the expansion, we’re aiming for a bit of a different mood to the story. We all love some old good mystery, whether it’s X-Files or Twin Peaks, so that’s an element we’re introducing to our world in Dying Light: The Following.”

Dying Light: The Following is due for release on February 9 and will cost you $20 (or free if you already own the Dying Light Season Pass).
