EA confirms that FIFA 15 on PC will use the Ignite engine; find out if you can run it

FIFA 15

FIFA 15 hasn’t officially been revealed yet, putting it in a strange purgatory where its existence is known, but it remains intangible. Coincidentally, that’s how I feel about football. I know it exists, I just don’t get it.

Ahead of the official reveal on June 9th, EA’s spilling the beans on the system specs. It’ll also be using the EA Sports Ignite engine, which powers the label’s titles on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Direct your eyes below for the recommended and minimum requirements.

Recommended Specifications:

  • OS: Windows V/7/8/8.1 -64-bit
  • CPU: Intel i5-2550K @ 3.4Ghz
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Hard Drive Space Required: 15.0 GB
  • Supported Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 6870, NVIDIA GTX 460
  • DirectX: 11.0

Minimum Required Specifications:

  • OS: Windows V/7/8/8.1 -64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad @ 2.4Ghz
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Hard Drive Space Required: 15.0 GB
  • Minimum Supported Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 5770, NVIDIA GTX 650
  • DirectX: 11.0

EA promises parity between the different platforms. The PC version will include all of the core features from its PS4 and Xbox One cousins. What those features are will be revealed on Monday.

Skipped '14 just for this reason, might pick this one up if it brings back next-gen parity.

Possibly get this one on PC. Won't be buying a PS4 for quite a while.

Good news. I've put more time in to PC FIFA14 (Ultimate Team mostly...) than I'd care to mention, as it's my stopgap 'need to fill an hour' game.

Looking forward to actually playing the proper version in the future :)

Is it just me or does this seem really poorly optimized for PC? Aside from the CPU the minimum specs seem to be more powerful than the consoles. So has EA just forgotten how to make PC games or do they just not care enough to do it properly?
