We're giving away copies of EVE: True Stories, so you can own a bit of New Eden history

EVE: True Stories competition

EVE Online has no dearth of fascinating stories, told and retold on forums, in interviews and in EVE itself. The best of these tales of dismantled empires, betrayals and galactic wars were submitted and voted for by the community, with the possibility that some of them would become the inspiration for comics, books and TV shows set in the EVE Universe.

The EVE True Stories hardcover graphic novel spins one such tale, where one man dismantled what had been one of EVE’s most powerful alliances at the heart of the Second Great War. In a day, a director of the Band of Brothers alliance defected to Goonswarm and wiped out his alliance, ending the war.

And we’ve got two copies sitting on Tim’s coffee table just waiting to be won by you lovely folk.

The graphic novel, based on the events that real players created and participated in, was penned by Daniel Way, whose writing credits include Deadpool, Wolverine and The Incredible Hulk. Artists Tomm Coker (Daredevil Noir), Alejandro Aragon (28 Days Later), Federico Dallocchio (Suicide Squad) and Daniel Warren Johnson (Space Mullet) all take on art duties.

If you want one of our two treasured copies, it’s all very simple.

Just tell us what event in EVE Online you think deserves its own comic book. It doesn’t need to be a big galactic war or the downfall of an alliance - it could be something small and personal. If we think it sounds rad, you might just end up with a copy of EVE True Stories.

Unfortunately, this is only open to folk in the UK. If you live somewhere else, you can still buy the print or digital version over at the Dark Horse website

So have at it, pilots, and good luck.

The protest at Jita! A comic strip would represent the frame rate pretty well I think.

There are far too many to narrow it down, although the story of AHARM and Guillotine Therapy still gives me shivers.

In a moment of madness, Makalu of warped 17 unsupported AAA supercarriers to the undock of K-6, to shoot station services. Test had just finished moving their interdictor cache to that station and all the supers died on the undock: https://zkillboard.com/related/30004751/201208152000/

When Pandemic Legion forgot to pay rent on their station leading to RUS and then CFC to join take over their assets and station, PL and N3 coalition later returning to battle it out resulting in a truly epic fight. Possibly the biggest space war in fictional history, to me thats something

I suggest what happens to the consciousness of a capsuleer, at the moment of death, during its journey to the clone vats, and during its integration with a new host. Then for a short while afterwards.

I think it'd be cool to give The Mittani space for a set of short stories. Not that they'd all be believable...

In terms of a single event though, everything around the collapse of Band of Brothers would make for some satisfyingly tense intrigue!

When I used to play EVE hardcore, back in the day, we played as low-sec residing booster producers and smugglers. It was absolutely glorious - far, far more heroic in our heads that it was in reality, because low-sec life is a miserable and hellish existence, but we felt like kings - Han Solo, Blackbeard, and Scarface rolled into one space-faring nightmare. We'd probe systems for gas, suck them dry, then sell off our boosters to the big alliances, while hunting whatever poor idiot wandered through our system for sport. It was glorious, and I'm kind of sad it's over. I think it'd make on hell of a story though :)
