Fallout 4 gets even more retro with these isometric screens

Fallout 4 isometric screens

Hey, remember when Fallout was a Black Isle/Interplay game and it was all turn based and isometric? I bet some of you even wish that was still the case today, rather than all this first-person, shootery nonsense. Well, we can’t make it so, but we can show you a Fallout 4 that might have been, thanks to some crafty camera work over on Reddit.

User yttriumtyclief has been twiddling around with the camera controls and discovered that it can be brought high-up into the sky to create that classic isometric angle from RPGs of yesteryear. The result is something that looks exceptionally classic Fallout. Unfortunately it’s almost certainly a fiddly business trying to play from up there, but fingers crossed some modding genius may find a way around that.

Is this the sort of Fallout 4 you’d really have loved to see? Or are you a fan of Bethesda’s take on the post-nuclear role playing game?
