Fallout 4 mod has mother nature claw back the wasteland

Fallout 4

There’s something I like about the depressing art style of Fallout 4, but I’ve always felt its rendition of post-apocalyptic Boston would benefit from a splash of colour. As we’ve learned from real life abandoned places – whatever the circumstances of an urban location’s demise – nature always finds a way to reclaim its territory. There’s a new mod for Fallout 4 that mirrors this reality.

One day Fallout 4 might surpass it, but for now Skyrim is king of mods. With that in mind, here are the best Skyrim mods.

If you’ve ever wondered what Fallout 4’s post-nuclear Boston would look like if designed by Naughty Dog’s artists, this is about the closest you’re going to get.

The Resurrection mod does just that – it resurrects and revives the wasteland, covering the cars and buildings in moss, dotting the wasteland with trees and sprouting grass from every inch of ground.

The beta version, however, will add new grass and landscape textures, with buildings, sounds and atmospherics coming later. You can download the beta for Resurrection yourself now and try the early version out. With it being unfinished and, you know, a mod, it’s probably a good idea to back up the neccessary files first, though.

There’s also a lovely video showing you a comparison between the mod and the vanilla textures – the two are like different worlds. See for yourself below:
