Far Cry 5 has been cracked

Far Cry 5 Last Supper

Far Cry 5 has been cracked. It took less than three weeks for scene group CPY to crack the game.

Piracy groups claim “Denuvo-protected games will continue to get cracked faster and faster.

Far Cry 5 released on March 27, and a cracked version was posted on the Crackwatch subreddit yesterday. That means it took just 19 days to develop a crack, despite three levels of DRM protection, including Denuvo and VMProtect. CPY also announced a crack of Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, which took 47 days to pirate after its release on February 23.

While it’s a little unfortunate for Ubisoft that Far Cry 5’s protection didn’t hold up a while longer, it probably won’t be too big a deal – after all, Far Cry 5 sold five million copies in its first week, giving Ubisoft’s stock a healthy boost.

The cracks mean that both Denuvo’s latest version, as well as VMProtect and EAC have all been cracked, which could mean we’re in for a spate of speedy cracks until the next versions of the DRM protection are released.
