A Brazilian ratings board has awarded an 18+ rating to a forthcoming title by the name of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, suggesting we’re likely to see a Far Cry 3 spinoff very soon. Furthermore, a poster on the NeoGAF forums has shared an image that may be leaked boxart for an Xbox Live Arcade release, though it looks very different to the game’s other promotional material and looks particulary eighties. Not that that’s a bad thing.

See? It really does.

The Brazilian ratings board gave the 18+ certification based on the title’s references to violence, sex and drugs, which sounds very much in keeping with the original game.

Only yesterday, Far Cry 3’s writer Jeffrey Yohalem told Joystiq that he was involved with something new and “surprising” to follow up the tremendous success of the game, which has shifted over 4.5 million copies so far. The game features a rare Blood Komodo which, if the player can kill and skin it, will allow them to craft a bloody great grenade pouch.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
