Playable women crop up in Farming Simulator 17

Farming Simulator 17

This year’s agriculture sim, Farming Simulator 17, will add a host of new improvements – one of which allows players to choose to play as a woman.

It’s not just both genders being represented this time, but there’s also branded machinery, new animals and new crop types. Plenty of diversity, then. Lovely, lovely choice. As usual, there will be full mod support, so expect that choice to only grow after the game releases, too.

“As requested by the passionate Farming Simulator community, the ability to play a female farmer reflects the diverse and ever-expanding industry of agriculture, making Farming Simulator 17 more realistic and rewarding than ever before,” says publisher Focus Home Interactive.

At the start of the game you’ll now be able to customise your avatar, from gender to clothes. The option of gender extends to the workers you can hire, as your farmhands will now come in two flavours of human.

More new features will be unveiled the coming weeks and Farming Simulator 17 will be showing off some new features at Gamescom.

Farming Simulator 17 will be available on October 25, 2016.
