Square Enix pulled a controversial Facebook app for Hitman Absolution within hours of it going live after it was pointed out to them that it was a barely veiled tool for cyber bullying.
You could use the app to send a private video to a Facebook friend showing Agent 47 killing them - using their profile picture and imposing it over a video template. Along with the video, you would select a reason for sending the hit and pick a physical attribute of your friend that 47 could use to identify them: one example would be having your friend killed because they were cheating on their partner and could be identified by their “small tits".
Square Enix swiftly issued an apology and pulled the app from their site and Facebook.

Can a world breathe? That's not a question the latest Hitman trailer seeks to answer. It does seek to answer some important questions, though. Like: "Is this going to be anything like Hitman: Blood Money, one of the greatest games burned to disc?" It seeks to answer that question with a "Yes".

I count myself as a hard wearing individual: I can drink black tea without grimacing, my Moomin hot water bottle only stays warm for half the night, and I take my rice pudding without jam, but even I'm balking at the hardest difficulty setting conceived by IO Interactive for Hitman: Absolution: no guides, no help, no interface, just a crosshair.
We've got details on the other four settings too; we're certainly being given a lot of choice.Read and Comment

?Our Spotlight units plug content our journalists have made, that our advertisers want to promote. Sometimes the promotion is paid for, but the content they go to is always independent with no client oversight or approval.

In an attempt to grab absolutely every Hitman image and screenshot that we possibly can, we spread our net far and wide across the, uh, the net. Here's all the pictures that we could find, many of them showcasing the varied and horrid ways that Mr. Hitman, Codename 47, can finish people off. Are you ready? Take a deep breath, it could be your last.

There was a time when we feared for the future of the Hitman series. Nuns were clad in PVC, guns were fired from the hip, and slow, darkly comic killing seemed to have been replaced with po-faced spray and pray gunning. Now that fear has dribbled into mere worry, what with the new trailer revealing a plunger as a weapon.Read and Comment
It was touch and go for a little while there. Actually, it wasn’t. IO had said that Bateson wouldn’t be returning as Agent 47, so it was officially touched and gone. But now they’re acting like that’s not the case, and saying that David Bateson will return as the eponymous character in their detached killer sandbox game when Hitman: Absolution hits the shelves in about a few months. Sorry, I mean gets uploaded to the giant digital distribution cloud. No one uses shelves anymore.Read and Comment
You may have picked up in Tim's preview that we're a little excited for Hitman: Absolution's new 'Contracts' mode. The main reason is it's a really clear sign of the creativity and dark humour that there earlier Hitman games brought and that seemed to be lacking in many of the previews and promotional material so far released by IO.
Well, below I've collected together a few things that should should feed the sparks of confidence into a small flame.

The public events have lost their lustre. The Mobs just aren’t satisfying your bloodlust any more. The Raids are starting to feel routine. Something is missing from your life, some verve, some joie de vivre that is slowly eating a gaping hole in your enjoyment.
What you want, what you really want, is a big old billowy cape. Then you’ll feel like a real hero. Someone who can stand at the top of a mountain and look like the most stoic man to exist. Which makes it a good thing that Trion World are your developers, because they’ve got your back. Rift is going to be getting Shroud 2.0, Cloakworks’ impressive real time cloth physics engine. And boy are you going to billow.Read and Comment
