It needn’t be fate or anything so dramatic, just good sense - Bungie’s Destiny, uncurtained yesterday after a decade spent in musty isolation, really ought to be on the PC. Persistence, class-based combat, massively multiplayer shooting - these are all things we’re au fait with, to say the least.
None of that seems to matter, though. We’ve heard Bungie refer to Destiny explicitly as a “console shooter" about half a hundred times over the weekend, and seen studio co-founder Jason Jones claim that nobody plays shooters with mouse and keyboard post-Halo, “’cause nobody wants to".

Black Ops 2 raised more than $500 million on its first day of release. That's not even including pre-orders, that's in addition to however many copies were sold before release. It would be fair to assume that the financiers over at Activision are re-enacting their favourite money scenes from pop culture, such as the ones I've included below:Read and Comment
Call of Duty Elite will be free with the release of Black Ops 2, Activision have announced. Included will be the until-now paid-for parts of Elite’s service - Clans, daily competitions, Elite TV, pro analysis - while additional DLC will be sold separately, either as part of a $49.99 Season Pass or as $15 map packs. Four Black Ops 2 map packs have been announced so far.Read and Comment
Modern Warfare 3 has had a packed run of DLC since its release, due to be rounded off by The Chaos Pack and Final Assault in the next month or so. But expect to see Activision take a different tack for Black Ops 2 - sales for Call of Duty DLC are slowing down, and the publisher thinks changing fan behaviour is to blame.Read and Comment
