When WoW’s lattermost expansion launched, you might remember it was Nightelf Druid Fs who first scaled the dizzy Pandarian heights of level 90. Hours later, however, she was sent packing by Blizzard amid accusations of cheating, and her account was reset to level 87.
Well. Nearly seven months on, Blizzard’s Ent Council have changed their minds.

If you’ve been absent from WoW for any length of time, you won’t know the Brawler’s Guild. Part advanced training ground, part bloodsport, the Guild allows players to develop their DPS against a variety of familiar bosses in arenas beneath Stormwind and Orgrimmar, while other players look on.
WoW patch 5.3 will see the Guild’s most significant shake up to date, say Blizzard, with the addition of two new tiers, a Challenge Card system, and a swanky VIP lounge.

It’s the question on every panda’s lips: when will World of Warcraft 5.2: The Thunder King arrive? And its companion follow-up question: will it maybe come on Tuesday?
WoW senior community rep Jonathan Brown was asked as much on Twitter this weekend, and replied: “That’s still the plan.”Read and Comment
WoW patch 5.2 hit the Public Test Realm yesterday, so I’d like you to all join me in wishing a very warm welcome to our new guest, The Thunder King. I’m sure you’ll extend him every courtesy over the next few raids. The façade of 5.2 is new raid dungeon Throne of Thunder, which comes with a “multi-faceted” new quest hub to match: an island stronghold. Beyond that, there are assorted pet battle improvements, as well as new pets, mounts and world bosses, class rebalancings and various bug fixes. Full patch scroll to be unfurled below the break.

If you're a World of Warcraft player, Greg Street is Important. He's the 'lead systems designer' of WoW: the person responsible for maintain some semblance of balance across all of WoW's classes and subclasses. That makes him the go-to man for WoW players to complain about their/someone else's class/spec being over/underpowered.
What’s odd is how open Greg is: he’s active on the Blizzard forums and twitter, ready to answer player’s questions with a level of detail, depth and earnest honesty unmatched in the industry.
He’s also quite funny.Read and Comment
Blizzard have been going door-to-door to visit WoW fansites through the night. WoW Insider answered their incessant knocking, dressing gown hastily donned and eyes narrowed in suspicion, only to find community manager Zarhym bellowing the following: “Patch 5.1, the first Mists of Pandaria content patch, is scheduled for release beginning on Tuesday morning, November 27 in North America.”

To give that number a little context, Cataclysm sold 3.3 million copies on its day of release, so there's a little bit of a sales drop here. That said, those still gargantuan sales have pushed World of Warcraft's subscription figures past the ten million mark, which is pretty damn impressive. Blizzard have also been busy making a special Collector’s Edition. Click through to see what it contains.

Mists of Pandaria’s out now, and, quite obviously, I’ve been playing it. Why? Because I love WoW with a kind of puppy dog enthusiasm that's unmatched in anyone I've met. I’ve got a whole heap of jumbled thoughts about what I’ve played so far (the Wandering Isles and the first chunk of the Jade Forest Horde side - although I played through the Wandering Isles during beta). I’m not going to call it a review in progress because a) we don’t do reviews yet and b) it’s dumb. But: here we go.Read and Comment

You don't need reminding, but just in case you're that man I saw on a Channel 4 documentary with a fifteen second memory: Mists of Pandaria launched last night, introducing WoW players to a new world, a new class, a new race, a new batch of features and systems and pet battles and updates. All that excitement was enough to make us want to sit down with Darren Williams, WoW's Senior Gameplay Engineer and Scott Mercer, the game's Senior Game Designer and discuss how the grubby conflict between Alliance and Horde is corrupting Pandaria, why WoW will stick to its traditional questing guns and exactly how to launch an MMO without a server room catching fire. There's a fog of anticipation hanging in the air around fortress Blizzard, it's less than two weeks till the launch of Mists of Pandaria. We love Blizzard, but why they got to be so secretive sometimes? It’s a question that’s bothered us for years, often explained away with glum talk of corporate culture, now finally answered: All along, they’ve been busy organising a party and didn’t want to spoil the surprise, silly!

World of Warcraft's just girded itself for Mists of Pandaria's September 25 release by patching itself up to five-oh-four, with servers now spluttering back into action, struggling to get their bearings in this brave new era. To bring in those wary shoppers and ex-players to the World of Warcraft family, Blizzard have knocked 75% off the standard prices of all the currently released content. That means you can pick up the World of Warcraft Battlechest for $5, the Wrath of the Lych King for a further $5, and Cataclysm for $10. Netting you all of the World of Warcraft in the world for $20.
