Looks like Diablo is pulling loads of players away from World of Warcraft? I wonder if Blizzard anticipated this happening. Hard to know if it's a bad thing until we see if their subscription numbers fall!
Most games are lucky to make it to a million sales but Diablo III's managed an impressive 3.5 million sales on the first day and a total 6.5 million by the end of the week.

Blizzard announce the Diablo 3 servers have not been attacked/compromised. The number of players who have actually had their accounts hacked has been small, although they stress players to back up their account with an authenticator.
"It seems as though Diablo III is not so much hack and slash as it is hack and, well... hack.I'd imagine that this is more frightening for D3 users than an afternoon on Chatroulette."

The result: Blizzard have apologised, and delayed the launch of their controversial real money auction house.
