This is the moment when it all clicks. I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online all day, and I like it. A lot. It's a fast paced, well thought out, friendly and impressive MMO game. An MMO game set inside the Elder Scrolls universe. But there's something missing. A spark.

Zenimax Online Studio's creative director Paul Stage is on-stage, and he wants to pull a Steve Jobs style surprise.

The Elder Scrolls Online won’t model hands or weapons in first-personTEScO game director Matt Firor talked to Digital Spy recently, and this is what he said.

"We are still working on this system, but as it stands right now, we have first and third-person support, just like in any other Elder Scrolls game. The only difference is that you don't see your hands and weapons in first-person mode."

Does that matter? I’ve let this one revolve about my brain for a bit, and have decided that it rather does, actually.

Tamriel is uniformly about the second or third fictional realm to drift into the ambitious heads of prospective mod makers, just behind permanent mind’s-eye fixture Middle-earth. As such, just as there’s a Westeros in Minecraft, you can bet there’s an Elder Scrolls mod for Civilization V. As it happens, there are at least three good ones knocking about Steam's Workshop.
