Gears of War: Ultimate Edition announced for PC with 4K support

Gears of Ware Definitive Edition PC

At this year’s PC Gaming Show at E3, Rod Fergusson of The Coalition announced the release of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for PC, promising the best version on offer.

“It’s been re-built and remastered from the ground up,” Fergusson said, claiming that while on consoles the game would be limited to 1080p, PC gamers would be able to experience the game in 4K and with an “unlimited refresh rate.”

In addition, Fergusson confirmed that while the game would support the Xbox controller on PC including the newly revealed Elite controller, it would also support mouse and keyboard.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has been announced as launching on Xbox One on August 25th, though Fergusson did not confirm a date for PC.
