GTA V has shipped 65 million copies to date, and new Rockstar games “will be revealed soon”

GTA developers Rockstar are currently working on multiple games that are to be revealed “soon”, according to an earnings report from parent company Take-Two.

This list of upcoming PC games is ready for the battering it’s about to get during E3 in June.

During the earnings report, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick said that fiscal 2016 was a stronger year than expected for profits, with results driven by the ongoing performance of GTA V – which has shipped 65 million copies to date – as well as the “ongoing momentum” of the NBA 2K and WWE 2K series, all topped off by the successful launch of PC-exclusive XCOM 2.

The year is also the company’s highest earner from recurrent consumer spending, pointing the the success of GTA Online’s in-game currency-based microtransactions.

“Fiscal 2017 is poised to be another strong year for Take-Two,” said Zelnick. “Our diverse lineup includes the new intellectual property Battleborn, which we released earlier this month, and the eagerly anticipated upcoming launches of Mafia III, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, NBA 2K17 and WWE 2K17. We plan to support these titles with innovative offerings designed to promote ongoing engagement and drive recurrent consumer spending.

“Looking ahead, we expect to grow Non-GAAP revenues and earnings in fiscal 2018, based on our robust development plan that extends well beyond the current fiscal year. Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon.”

What are your guesses for Rockstar’s projects? I’m personally hoping for a new Red Dead, obviously. I’d also love a return to Manhunt, but that probably won’t ever happen because the modern graphics would get it insta-banned. More than anything, though, I would love Rockstar to make something completely new.
