Did you know that every banana is genetically identical to every other banana in the world? That means that all bananas are clones, and that to grow a banana tree you need to use a cutting from an existing banana tree because (for science reasons) the seeds don’t work.
It also means that if our precious bananas were to fall victim to a contagious banana disease, we’d simply have no more bananas left on earth. And that would be very sad indeed. It happened once before and we were left with our current species of banana, which unfortunately was the less tasty of the two we originally had.
But here’s a more uplifting banana fact for you: the latest Hearthstone Tavern Brawl — a mid-week special in which rules are flip-turned upside down in the name of funtimes and prizes — is banana themed.
It’s the Hearthstone Banana Brawl, and you and your deck are invited.
This week’s Tavern Brawl twist means that every time one of your minions dies you’ll be given one of four random bananas. These bananas have the following spell effects and cost one mana per banana.
- Banana: Give a minion +1/+1
- Big Banana: Give a minion +2/+2
- Deviate Banana: Swap a minion’s attack and health
- Rotten Banana: Deal 1 damage
Minions fall down, bananas pop up. You can’t explain it.
Tavern Brawls were added in Hearthstone’s 2.7 patch and offer players a unique twist on standard rules, as well as an opportunity to snap up prize packs for winning games.
