Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number gameplay footage has more blood than your worst nightmare

If you’re not at Rezzed 2013 in Birmingham at the moment, you probably won’t have seen anything of Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number other than the trailer. Things are about to change though, as you’re about to see a whole mission worth of footage, and it’s bloody brutal.

The kind folks from VG247 managed to get this off-screen footage from the showfloor at Rezzed. In it we can see that Dennaton Games have upped the ante on the sequel, with even groovier music, better machine gun sound effects, more wince-inducing bone snaps, excessively brutal executions, and more blood than any human body could reasonably hold. If you thought Hotline Miami was the definition of ultra-violence, Wrong Number is about to prove you incorrect.

Improvements aside, the sequel is clearly retaining everything that makes the original such a self-punishing joy to play. Insane difficult, twitch reactions, and spur of the moment planning are all present and correct.

Dennaton Games have yet to announce a release window for the game.
