Infinite sneaking: Gunpoint level editor announced

Gunpoint has leapt out of the window; here’s our Gunpoint review.

If Stealth Bastard Deluxe wasn’t enough for you, or the impeding release of Dishonored, then hopefully the prospect of an infinite number of stealth missions can appease you. Tom Francis has announced his sidescrolling, equipment hacking, guard slapping, Gunpoint will come with a level editor.

Check it out in action in the video below.

As you can seebrieflyin the video, which appeared on Francis’ Youtube account, Gunpoint lets you rewire all the electrics in a level to any of its different devices; locking mechanisms can be wired up to light switches, metal detectors to elevators, and all manner of tricksy things.

Francis still hasn’t announced a release date, adopting a “When it’s done approach”, but it’s looking like a potentially very slick noir stealth platformer with an intriguing central hacking mechanic. I’m making a reservation in my wallet.
