Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’s scantily clad sniper, Quiet, has been corrupting saves

Metal Gear Solid V bug

Update 14/09/15: Konami have tweeted to say that the Quiet bug has now been fixed for the PC version.

It looks like Quiet, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s underdressed sniper is causing a few problems beyond the obvious distraction posed by having a comrade sauntering around in their underwear. She’s also the source of a progress halting bug.

“In “METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN” which was released on September 1st, 2015 there is a possibility that the game stops progress if having Quiet as a buddy while playing ‘Mission 29’ or ‘Mission 42’,” reads the announcement on the Konami support site.

Unfortunately there’s no solution to the problem yet, beyond not bringing Quiet with you on the aforementioned missions.

The bug seems to be present on all platforms, not just on PC.

Despite this issue, The Phantom Pain proved to be a very solid PC port, absent performance issues. In fact, we reckon it’s the definitive version.
