Get ready for Minecraft 1.4.4 tomorrow

Peace and harmony is on its way.

Jeb has just confirmed via Twitter, that the official release of Minecraft 1.4.4 will be with us in about 24 hours, so that's 3pm Central European Time. If that's still too much of a wait for you, there's already a pre-release out now.

While the Pretty Scary Update introduced a bunch of new features, a user base of some eight million players is always likely to find a few bugs that a development team has missed and the programmers at Mojang have been busy crushing bugs for a while now. Hundreds have been identified and hundreds have now been banished, so we're hoping for a smoother ride from here on.
