Just how big is a Minecraft world? Big, as it turns out.

Sometimes I worry that we don’t unsheathe some of the really big numbers nearly often enough to justify their existence, so it’s nice that Mojang consistently deal in ten consecutive digits or more.

Two hundred sixty-two quadrillion, one hundred and forty-four trillion. That’s the number of block-spaces you’ll find in a fully-explored Minecraft world.

More or less infinite, is the point. Cor, isn’t it nice to be free of that nagging doubt that you might one day stumble face-first off the edge of existence and roll down the gargantuan shell of a space-turtle?
