Minecraft 1.3 to “pre-release” by Thursday

Comment

The Minecraft 1.3 patch is nearly complete, according to Mojang’s Jens, and will be with us in the next few days. According to the Mojang blog, the patch is to be released a week early so that “mod-makers and server admins” can get a headstart.

The Minecraft 1.3 patch includes a merger of single and multiplayer modes that should allow for easier sharing of builds online and off. There are also new block types, the ability to write in books, and the ability to start with a bonus chest that will get you up and running earlier.
