Neverwinter trailer likely not representative of final game

CGI trailers are a baffling business that have haunted the games industry for what feels like aeons. Yes, they often look lovely but there's nothing about it's quality that will carry over into the actual product. They rarely even use the same assets, what with the fidelity of most the in-game models being way below the quality needed for a up-scale rendered videos.

The latest Neverwinter trailer feels particularly odd as it doesn't seem to announce anything. The beta is already available to sign up for and the video doesn't date a full release.

Still, it's embedded below.

Bloody hell, that was a fairly sedate city invasion. We're looking at an army marching on a city and it seems to be a bit of a walk in the park for all involved. Hopefully the actual game will pack a little more punch than this.

You can sign up for the beta over yonder.
