Nvidia Showcase: Lara Croft returns to PC in Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider

PCGamesN Nvidia Showcase posts are created in partnership with Nvidia.

While Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusively launched on Xbox consoles last November, Lara Croft’s latest epic adventure is now coming to PC on January 28.

PC gamers will finally be able to take part in the visually stunning action game, which is being hailed by many as the best entry in the longstanding Tomb Raider series to date. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara travels through the dusty desert environments of Syria to the cold wastes of Siberia, which are given a realistic sheen and tremendous level of detail especially when played on a gaming rig powered by a GeForce GTX 900 series GPU. 24-hour night and day cycles, diverse weather conditions and a living ecosystem of animals and plants are all rendered beautifully and authentically in Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC.

Depending on their proclivity for all things Tomb Raider, PC owners can experience Rise of the Tomb Raider in three separate editions of the game, which we’ve detailed below.

Standard Edition

Available from various retailers and e-tailers, the Standard Edition includes the base game and comes with the retail price of $59.99. But if you pre-purchase it on Steam you also get 2013’s Tomb Raider bundled with it.

Digital Deluxe Edition

For the $89.99 Digital Deluxe Edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider, you get the main game, and a full season pass which includes: Content that extends the single-player campaign and enables you to play with friends. It also features an Endurance Mode that will test your skills, a new tomb called Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, the Cold Darkness Awakened mode in which you have to fight off waves of infected enemies. Outfits, weapons and Expedition Cards will also be made available over the course of four months after the game’s launch.

Collector’s Edition

Go to the Square Enix e-store and you can get everything in the Digital Deluxe Edition listed above along with a 12-inch Lara Croft figure, replicas of Lara’s journal, a jade necklace and a steel case for $149.99 included with the Collector’s Edition.

For a limited time, you can also get Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC for free if you upgrade your hardware and buy a participating NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti, 980 or 970 graphics card or system, or a participating NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, 980M or 970M notebook.
