P.O.L.L.E.N is a virtual reality game set on Titan: wander around an abandoned station searching for the truth

POLLEN

The launch date for virtual reality draws ever closer, and when that date is finalised there’s one game that will be ready. P.O.L.L.E.N describes itself as a virtual reality launch game, and is a sci-fi exploration game set on Staurn’s moon Titan. Taking inspiration from Gone Home, The Dig, and films like 2001, it looks rather atmospheric. Just like Titan.

(Titan is the only moon with an atmosphere. Geddit?)

P.O.L.L.E.N is set in an alternative timeline where Kennedy escaped his assassination, and ended up uniting the US and the Russians in a combined effort to build a space base. Years on, Station M is a key installation on Titan, but recently a member of the crew there went missing. It’s up to you – wearer of big VR goggles – to investigate.

Developer Mindfield Games promises that everything on the base will be interactive, from simply picking things up to operating machinery. It’ll be that sense of interaction that helps VR games feel that closer to reality than standard games.

The game’s currently on Greenlight, so if you’d like to see it on Steam do give it a vote.
