The PC Gaming Alliance have shared a report with its members stating that 2012 saw an 8% sale boost over the total PC games sold in 2011. You may punch the air if you so wish.

The report points out that this increase was achieved despite the shrinking MMO subscription market. It also states that China alone makes up $7 billion of those sales and is the fastest growing PC gaming market.

The PC Gaming Alliance also report that there are more than a billion PC gamers around the globe and that they expect the market to be worth $25.7 billion by 2016.
