Planetside 2 Hossin trailer shows off new swamp-like continent in action

Hossin

It’s been in development for a long time, but Hossin is finally available for players to wage war over in Planetside 2. A swamp-like continent, players will be faced with natural barriers that will make traversing the terrain a challenge in itself.

We’ve got a trailer of Hossin in action below.

Here’s the trailer:

With over 80 new bases it’s sure going to be a mammoth task to try and conquer for any faction.

Hossin also brings with it the long awaited introduction of continent locking: a system that prevents capture of the continent until another is captured locked by another empire. The goal is to control the flow of players and bring more focused and balanced populations to the other continents.

It looks like a lot of fun, so much so that I’m updating my client right now.

I have played PlanetSide 2 a lot this weekend and most of that time was spent on Hossin. So far I like it a lot, even if it feels like a few key bases are bottles necks that you fight over a bit too much compared with others.

So far a lot of fun and I will play more tonight.

In the game, redeem the code "SUMMERREWARD" to unlock the NS-11P rifle.

"MLGREPORT" will give you a 24 hour exp booser and decals for ONE character.

It's pretty good. The trees are huge, there's lots of shallow water, and the terrain is full of cliffs and ridges. This has the overall effect of making it extremely infantry orientated. They've said it's still a work in progress, and I've seen some ugly placeholder textures and a couple of hilarious horizontal elevator fields which flung you into walls, but the bases aren't the copy/paste ones from a year ago like I expected, they're more like the new Amerish bases. I think it might become a favourite if it keeps the flyboys away.
