Ubisoft unveils Rainbow Six Siege’s big class system

Rainbow Six Siege operator system

Ubisoft Montreal has revealed its class system for Rainbow Six Siege. They’ve given it an obtuse name, the operator system, but it just means that each special forces unit is made up from a bunch of unique classes – and there are a lot of them.

Squads of hostage-saving, terrorist-shooting, operators are full of specialists, like chaps who love nothing more than to breach doors, and each squad, from Spetsnaz to SWAT, will have classes unique to them.

You can see them do their thing below.

The devs break down the system in the second episode of Behind The Wall, which you can also watch right now.

Ubisoft’s also announced a Collector’s Edition, called Art of the Siege Edition. In it, you’ll get the game, a special box, gold skins for all the weapons – shiny gold weapons are the best for infiltration missions – and a 120-page “tactical guide”.

A closed beta is on the cards this year, with pre-orders netting folk guaranteed access.
