Revised ETA: The Division delayed until 2015

Ubisoft may have all eyes glued to them as they kick out Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, and a fancy new Assassin’s Creed this year, but if we’re all honest, it’s their ultra-shiny, multiplayer apocalypse sandbox The Division that has our hearts fluttering the most. The end of 2014 can’t come quick enough.

Scratch that. Latest intel reports inform us that The Division will now be marching 2015. At ease ladies and gents, we won’t be closing car doors anytime soon.

The news comes straight from The Division’s website, where the dev team briefly explained the new release window.

“Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of and we don’t want to compromise on quality. We are going to release the game when it’s ready,” explained the post.

Honestly, this doesn’t come as much of a suprise. It’s clear that The Division is one of, if not the most ambitious AAA title in development at the moment, and the concept deserves to be taken care of. Ubisoft similarly delayed Watch Dogs from its Winter 2013 window to May 2014 in the name of quality and polish. Provided Watch Dogs lives up to expectations, I doubt anyone will begrudge Ubisoft for keeping The Division back to smooth off a few more edges.
