Saints Row’s Enter the Dominatrix DLC is now a mockumentary

Saints Row 4 is out now; here’s our Saints Row 4 review.

If you recall, Enter the Dominatrix was an announced Saints Row 3 expansion pack that never came out. It never came out, because THQ dictated it become a full sequel shortly before the publisher burst into flame.

But if there’s one thing series creators Volition know, it’s that you never let go of a rude name. The recommissioned Enter the Dominatrix will be a mockumentary featuring the Saints Row cast, due 45 days after Saints Row 4’s August release.

The DLC pack was announced during a Comic-Con panel in San Diego this weekend. It’ll be made up of faux behind-the-scenes footage, in which characters from the game will explain why the original expansion was cut. No doubt they’ll cite various addictions and accidents rather than the slow, harrowing death of a games publisher.

Saints Row 3’s Enter the Dominatrix was to feature an alien invasion, a hook that has since become the centrepiece of its sequel. That, and the superpowers. Read our Steve’s hands on with Saints Row 4 for more on them.

So: some admirable lateral thinking from Volition. Do they have your approval, or is this a joke too far?
