Does Shadowrun: Hong Kong - Extended Edition make you feel paranoid?

No. There's reason enough to distrust certain people, but I wouldn't say there's an era of paranoia.

Yes and no. It does make you feel powerful if you get the right spells and use them correctly (like Flamethrower, Ball lightning, haste, etc.) but since there's good balance, it doesn't make you overpowered.

The most powerful people work together as a team. Plus, magic has cooldowns that limit the impressive and insane burst or control or utility you can get. Magicians also can't use cybernetics very well either.

In terms of characterization, it's believable. In terms of "Is it realistc?" Oh hell no, Cyborg and Magic Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Trolls.... it's like near-future sci-fi and fantasy.

It is fun though, and the people in it do act like they have realistic motivations. You even can go to a Tech convention in one mission, which feels surprisingly like going to a real convention.

Good. Parts of your backstory are set for you, but you can determine the details. There are multiple endings which can get further expounded on in the post campaign "bonus" campaign. I liked it, I think it's the best Shadowrun story so far in the PC "Returns" games.
