Star Citizen’s executive producer has left Cloud Imperium

Star Citizen executive producer quits

It’s all ups and downs for Cloud Imperium and Star Citizen at the moment. The FPS module, which seems to have been the source of lots of problems, has been delayed. But the team now has a brand spanking new office in Frankfurt. And now the executive producer, Alex Mayberry, has left the company.

Mayberry’s departure was rumoured earlier this week, and has since been confirmed by Cloud Imperium. He left in June for “personal reasons”.

Despite the timing, Mayberry leaving is unrelated to the FPS module or the other changes to the company.

“We were sorry that Alex had to leave the CIG family,” Cloud Imperium said in a statement today. “No impact at all on development. In fact, it’s full steam ahead for us.”

Star Citizen has raised around $85 million and will soon be a year overdue, based on the original release window.
