Star Wars: The Old Republic, now with added bounties

Star Wars: The Old Republic

Bioware have announced that each month they’ll be adding new bounties – the killing kind, not the delectable chocolate kind – to Star Wars: the Old Republic. The bounties will take place all over the galaxy and encourage players to investigate their targets as they track them down for the kill.

The way it works is that “Once per Galactic Standard Month, the Bounty Brokers Association (BBA) posts a list of contracts in the Cartel Bazaar section of the Fleet. Each contract outlines the parameters of a bounty that has been posted on one of many planets across the galaxy, including contact information for the client who posted the bounty and a list of underworld contacts in the sector who may be persuaded to assist you in the hunt. Targets include members of crime syndicates, violent gangs, and various other law-breaking entities. High-profile targets, designated “Kingpins,” may only be hunted through Kingpin Contracts, which are entrusted to professionals who have a proven track record with the BBA.”

These bounties pay out the big bucks to players able to collect on them. Also, you’re rewarded more if you display investigative skills in the process – so simply finding out where the target is on a forum and wandering over there isn’t going to get you the most cash.
