WarCraft: Armies of Azeroth is a nostalgic Starcraft II mod remake of Blizzard's Warcraft III

A budding bunch of modders have remade Blizzard’s Warcraft III strategy game inside of Starcraft II. They’ve opted to try and “save" the original balance and graphical design of the game, while adding new gameplay features of their own. The models, while referencing Blizzard’s own, are completely custom made using the newer and more polished engine.

We’ve got a trailer and some screenshots below, so if you were a fan of the game, you can check it out.

Blizzard to consider in-game subscription time item for World of Warcraft

Blizzard have revealed a number of exciting changes coming to it’s sole, but gargantuan MMO, World of Warcraft next year. Out of the many, many additions, one stands out among the crowd: a in-game sub time item, similar to PLEX in EVE Online.

“We’re exploring the possibility of giving players a way to buy tradable game-time tokens for the purpose of exchanging them in-game with other players for gold." said community manager Bashiok in the forum post. “A few other online games offer a similar option, and players have suggested that they’d be interested in seeing something along those lines in WoW."

Legacy of the Void: how Blizzard are building a beta StarCraft II with "meaningful" upgrades

Blizzard have already begun the impossible balancing act of Legacy of the Void, the third part of the StarCraft II trilogy first foretold seven years ago. And they’ll start tweaking in earnest once the new game lands in beta next year. They’re aiming for “more meaningful" upgrades in one of the best strategy games on PC, and planning far-reaching changes to resources and worker counts.

World of Warcraft Winter Veil covers half the cost of certain pets and mounts this Christmas

A dog is not just for Christmas. A cinder kitten or Alterac brew pup, though? Classifiable as presents on a technicality, and 50% off during the holiday season.

As Winter Veil comes to Draenor for the first time and players sit down by their Cozy Fires with their Egg Nog, Blizzard are selling pets and mounts in one of the best MMOs on PC at half-price.

Hearthstone team know there’s work to be done making new players comfortable

Three of Hearthstone’s key developers took to Reddit to do an Ask Me Anything session, which revealed a great variety of insights into the creation of the new Goblins vs Gnomes cards and what everyone’s favourite new mechanics were. But one of the key things to take away from the discussion is that Blizzard realise that there’s a problem when it comes to new players.

Jumping from gentle tutorial games into ‘casual’ battles against players decked out with powerful Legendary cards is putting players off, even if they've been using one of the best balanced beginner's decks. And Blizzard know they need to do something about it before Hearthstone becomes the domain of power-players only.

Blizzard to scrap World of Warcraft's Death Knight level requirement

Blizzard to scrap World of Warcraft's Death Knight level requirement

Many moons ago, Blizzard released the Wrath of the Lich King expansion to World of Warcraft, and along with it a new class: Death Knights. They were a special sort, being dubbed as a “Hero Class" due to their unique ability to start the game at level 55, which back then was a big thing. The only hitch was that you needed to already own a character that was over that level, before you could even think about creating one.

Now though, as time has passed, Blizzard have seen it fit to remove that arbitrary requirement.

Watch our Nick dodge some explosive sheep in the Hearthstone: Goblins vs Gnomes arena

Did you know a new Hearthstone expansion launched this week? Of course you did! Goblins vs Gnomes has brought over 120 cards to the game, all themed around the eternal rivalry of Warcraft’s two most inventive races.

I've got 60 packs to open up tonight; hopefully we can score some shiny legendaries to use in constructed. After that, I'll be jumping head first into the arena; you can watch me live over on our Twitch channel. The stream is embedded below, but make sure to head into chat and say hello!

Warlords of Draenor's Highmaul raid gets its mythic mode and appears on raid finder

Warlords of Draenor’s Highmaul raid, a city filled with unpleasant ogres, is opening its doors to players using the raid finder. Last week, raiders got to take on the likes of Kargath Bladefist and Imperator Mar’gok in normal and heroic modes, but tomorrow will be the first day of it being in the raid finder in Europe, and it’s already live in North America. Only the first wing will be available, though.

Hearthstone: Goblins vs Gnomes and its 120 crisp new cards now live UPDATE: everywhere but Europe

Take a look at the new Goblins vs Gnomes cards coming to Hearthstone - over 120 of 'em. Before today, we’ve only been able to stare at those images through the cold pane of our monitors, like so much WoW concept art. But today is the launch date of Hearthstone’s new expansion, which means you can now pick those cards up with your mouse and fling them about the board as minions, spells and whatnot.

UPDATE: The comment section attests to the fact that the expansion hasn't yet made it to European climes. Hrrm.

Blizzard plan to add content to Warlords of Draenor’s garrisons “in every patch”

Blizzard’s packed Warlords of Draenor with things to do. There’s a new continent to explore, raids to run, and dungeons to mine. However, traditional content aside, it’s Draenor’s garrisons which have made players happiest.

Garrison’s lets every player command their own small settlement. You can build and upgrade structures, send your followers out on quests, and finally feel like the king of your own castle.

Blizzard have no intention of leaving garrisons as they are, though.

Hearthstone's Goblins vs Gnomes cards sneak into the Arena early

Hearthstone’s expansion, Goblins vs Gnomes, won’t launch until Monday, but the diminutive engineers aren’t known for their patience. All of the new cards from the expansion are now available in the Arena, giving you lovely lot an early look at possible new additions to your finely-tuned deck.

While you normally have to spend a bit of gold to get into Arena, Blizzard’s giving everyone one free go. And if you’re busy doing other things at the moment, don’t fret, because you can still watch others play, even if you can’t. Spectator mode is now live, so put your eyeballs to good use.

The full patch notes for the expansion have also been posted, so take a gander below.

Adopt Argi the alien goat in World of Warcraft, and help the American Red Cross

You probably never realised that you wanted, no, needed an adorable alien goat in your life. You woke up every morning thinking your life was complete, never realising that there was a tiny, cute hole in your existence that could only be filled by a cloven-hoofed creature from another world, in another time. But now you do, and I bet it’s eating you up inside.

Argi, the space goat, has been added to World of Warcraft’s roster of pets, and you can purchase the cuddly wee creature now for $10 or £9, yeah, we Brits are getting the short end of the stuck. But! Oh, it’s a big but. From now until December 31st, 100 percent of the “adoption" fee will be donated by Blizzard to the American Red Cross, and the charity will use the money to aid in ebola relief efforts in Africa.

Hearthstone: Goblins vs Gnomes: all the new cards

It was a busy time for Hearthstone at this year’s BlizzCon - a new expansion was announced: Goblins vs Gnomes. It’ll feature 120 brand new cards themed around the fantastical, and often random inventions of both races. Unlike the latest Adventure, Curse of Naxxramas, you won’t need to buy the expansion as a whole, instead you’ll purchase a new Goblins vs Gnomes booster pack; or win them from the arena.

Update: All Goblins vs Gnomes cards have now been revealed - Check them out below!

Hearthstone players rally together to get Blizzard's attention on shop and arena bug

Bugs can be a frustrating issue in any game, and the community of Blizzard’s simplistic yet fun collectable card game, Hearthstone, know all too well. After a bug has locked unlucky players out of being able to use the in-game shop and arena mode, the community plan to band together in an effort to raise awareness to Blizzard to fix the issue.

With the help Hearthstone’s most popular streamers, the mighty goal is to send over one million tweets with the “#FixOurShop" hashtag, tonight.
