League of Legends' next champion, Kha'Zix, abilities detailed

Kha’Zix, the evolution-heavy alien hunter beast fighting his way into League of Legend’s Summoner’s Rift, has had his abilities detailed in a post by Riot, explaining exactly how the whole idea of battlefield evolution works, as well as giving more than a few details on his expected role in the game, and where he’s most effective.

Kha'Zix, the next addition to League of Legends is teased by Riot

Comment
Kha'Zix, the next addition to League of Legends is teased by RiotIt’s always nice to see Riot mix it up when introducing a new hero, and Kha'Zix, the next addition to the roster of Champions is certainly looking to do that. After ourSyndra review, at first glance this is looking to be a much more straight-forward affair. It’s pegged as the ultimate hunter, a highly evolved Voidreaver that looks more than a little like a classic sci-fi alien who’s also pretty good at the old evolving and hunting. But, from the sounds of things, there’s more to it than that.

Syndra available to play on League of Legend's Public Test Server

Announced at Gamescom, League of Legend’s next champion, Syndra, is now available to take for a spin on the public test servers. She’s a pretty big departure from the normal style of champion that Riot put out, focusing a huge amount of placement and skillshots rather than directed abilities, so it’s going to be pretty interesting to see how she fares when she goes live, probably with next week’s patch.

League of Legends teases Rengar, a scraggly lion man

Comment
League of Legends teases Rengar, a scraggly lion manI love jungling, me. It places you in a position of anonymity, where your ganks are entirely unexpected, except by the general sense of unease that pervades whenever you’re past the river on your lane. It lets you enjoy feeling like you’re the predator, when so much of League of Legends makes you feel like the prey. Or at least, a pair of sheep knocking horns into one another.

Riot understand this, and as such the next champion to grace their game is going to be a jungler. I’m fairly sure of that. He’s got an eyepatch, he’s a big dishevelled white lion and he’s creeping out in some grass. And he's called Rengar. That all says jungler to me.

Champion Spotlight on Diana, League of Legend's newest addition

Comment
Champion Spotlight on Diana, League of Legend's newest additionDiana is looking to be a really interesting champion, for reasons that shouldn’t make her interesting. She has no big flashy ability, no one massive showstopper; just a suite of skills that are extremely useful, work together very well and give her a lot of power in the right circumstance. She’s understated. She’s subtle. She’s a spot of sophistication among the release of champions that favoured bombast over true power. Which is what makes her all the more exciting as a proposition.

Diana, Scorn of the Moon, announced, revealed, detailedBecause Riot are obsessed with making my life ever so slightly difficult, they went and announced a new champion while I was desperately speeding through the German Autobahns to get back to my PC to post about exciting League of Legends news. And this is quite exciting League of Legends news. We had Zyra, the plant lady Poison Ivy person, last week, and we’ll soon be getting Diana, Scorn of the Moon

Zyra, the 101st League of Legends Champion, detailed

Zyra, the 101st League of Legends Champion, detailedHalfway between Poison Ivy and an actual plant, League of Legend’s next champion, its 101st, is Zyra, Rise of the Thorns. It looks like she’s pillaged Ivy’s wardrobe, too, although she may well have been interrupted halfway between desperately grabbing bits of plantlife to tape to her body, because there’s really not all that much there. But she’s got some interesting sounding abilities.

Jayce, the 100th champion, coming with next patch, along with lots of lovely skinsHammers are so in this season. You’ve got Thor, and then you’ve got all those sweaty builders that keep thinking it’s ok to start hammering at 7am before I’ve even had some tea. Some I like, some I don’t. Coming in the next patch, League of Legends’ new champion, Jayce, has a hammer. But it’s ok, because it turns into a giant gun.

League of Legends Draven Review

Comment
League of Legends Draven ReviewDraven, the fu-manchu looking bugger with the spinning axes and the permanent smile, fixed to his face in the kind of rigor mortis that only the truly evil can manage, has arrived in League of Legends. He’s an AD Carry, he moves around a lot, and he’s got a global ultimate. I can hear you salivating already, you disgusting summoner. Close your mouth if you’re going to do that, and let me tell you what I think of him.

League of Legends Darius Champion Review

Comment
League of Legends Darius Champion ReviewAlong with the huge graphical overhaul of Summoner’s Rift, Riot have added Darius, Hand of Noxus, into the game. He’s a melee champion, and while it might be tempting to call him a tank, he’s more of a tank /slayer/. And he’s more of an overpowered bastard, in the current state of things. There’s a problem inherent in making a new champion that Riot occasionally falls afoul of. Despite rigorous beta testing, and lots of experience making fair and balanced new additions, sometimes they let loose something that’s just too powerful for its own good. Incredibly fun, but in a way that just feels like a win button.
