Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us episode 2 due out in the first week of February

The Wolf Among Us ep 2 out first week of February

Good news, everyone. The second episode of Telltale’s ultra-violent noir detective adventure, The Wolf Among Us, finally has a release date, making it almost a tangible thing we can sink our teeth into. Kevin Bruner announced the good news on the official forums, revealing a first week of February release window. That’s 3 weeks away, which is more than enough time to gorge on Fables comics to prepare.

“Ep 2 should be available the first week of February. We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce that here,” said Bruner. “The episode is looking really good (as is the rest of the season!). We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won’t dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.”

The sting of the delay was somewhat neutralised by the release of the first episode of the new season of The Walking Dead, which will continue to be released throughout The Wolf Among Us’ run. It’s quite a treat to have two excellent adventure games running alongside each other, especially when they both manage to touch on very different themes.

The first episode of The Wolf Among Us certainly impressed me, particularly in the way it managed to inject elaborate action sequences into the murder investigation. I’m not normally much of a fan of QTEs or their ilk, but Telltale really knows how to make them exhilarating.
