American team raises money to fly to i46 in the UK, beat everyone else at TF2

Comment

By the end, it was somewhat inevitable. Both teams in the i46 final - Classic Mixup and Leviathan Gaming - were of yank blood, and short of a double disqualification we were getting a yank winner. And despite jetlag, despite unfavoured maps, despite an unfamiliar ruleset, that winner was Classic Mixup.

The final stretched across three maps thanks to a solid defence from Leviathan, but Classic Mixup eventually claimed the £2,500 prize money with a 2-0 score.

The tournament marks the first time in TF2 iseries history that teams have flown in from outside Europe to compete. But after a performance like this, you can be darn sure it won’t be the last. Well done, yanks!
